Is there a Place for Religion in modern society?

I honestly think that it depends. I personally have little belief in God's existence, but I can understand the need for him. If the concept of God did not exist, it would need to be invented. People are scared of death, and regardless of what they believe or say what they believe, many people turn towards faith when all else fails.

I think that in modern society there is a fear of the unknown, yet with modern science and the evolution theory becoming more and more rational. The already wavered concept of Christianity is dying. I think that there is a place for Religion in modern society and I believe that it should be taught to children in schools up until a certain age that they can make their own presumptions or opinions on the subject. I highly disagree some aspects to religion and I find that a lot of it is preached instead of taught. For Christianity to become accepted, it will need to adapt and become more open minded. Yet in today's day and age, it would prove to be impossible to change the cynical views of earth's populace with nothing short of divine intervention or a miracle, which makes us wonder about the existence of any diety.

Will there be a place for Religion in the next ten years? Well, I'll get back to you when I find out.
